Colorado is one of the most popular elopement destinations in the country — and for good reason. Self-solemnization is legal, the landscapes are stunning year-round, and there's a location for every kind of couple.

Why Colorado?

Colorado is one of a handful of states where you can legally marry yourselves. No officiant required. This makes it incredibly flexible for couples who want full control over their ceremony.

Best Locations

From Rocky Mountain National Park to the San Juan Mountains, the options are endless. Some of my favorites include Maroon Bells, Sapphire Point, Guanella Pass, and the Great Sand Dunes.

When to Go

Summer (June-September) offers the most accessible locations and wildflower season. Fall (September-October) brings incredible golden aspens. Winter elopements are magical but require more planning for road conditions and shorter daylight.

Permits & Logistics

Most National Park and National Forest locations require permits for commercial photography. I handle this process for my couples so you don't have to worry about the paperwork.
